How do i record something on my tv with comcast on demand?

i want to record or have someone record american idol tonight on my tv and i was wondering how to do it

do you mean record with a vcr, or do you have a comcast dvr?  the easiest way to find out is that the regular cable box is black, while the comcast dvr will be silver colored.  

if you have a dvr, use the guide to find the program you want to record, then just hit the red record button on your remote, it will prompt you with several options such as record future programs which means it will automatically record future episodes of the program, select the options you wnat and hit okay, and then exit the menu.
