  1. If you want to record a window(ex: Internet explorer, Firefox), then open hypercam, click "select window" and click on the window, once done press F2 to start the clip and F2 again to stop it.

If you want to select a region, a crosshair cropping device will appear, find the region you want and, again, F2 to start/stop.

Some tips are to open the "AVI file" tab go to browse and save the file(s) to your desktop for easy access.  If you want to pan(or have the region to move where you want it to) there are HotKeys to press(located in the Hotkeys tab) while panning, you can change which buttons to press to pan, there's also a pan-lock which SHIFT+F3 which pans automatically.

    Hope this helped. :P

one more note: if you want to record sound coming from your speakers, go to control panel>classic view>sound, then open the recording tab and(if it's not already there) check "show disabled devices" and "show disconnected devices" and make STEREO MIX your default device. THIS IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT FOR WINDOWS XP, but the control panel>classic view>sound IS THE SAME
