try the cable company or whoever you got it from 1st, but even if they say you can't or they won't...

I'd still look up in the yellow pages, a local computer repair shop. remind you, they normally charge $100+ for this kind of thing (depending on total file size) & there is not guarantee.

don't think you can. But call the cable company to check, if this is a cable recorder.

Computer repair shop won't be able to help. They can (sometimes) recover deleted files from a PC, but a DVR hard disk is inaccessable. There is no PC to load recovery programs on.
