I've had a renault clio for a few month's and wanted to charge the battery, however it doesn't seem to have a normal nut and bolt type fitting on the terminals.

Each terminal has a flat cap type fitting, one green, one red,and the writing on the cap's is french.I don't want to try forcing the cap's in case i strip some thread's or something, how on earth do they come off.

  1. I sorry to have to be the one to tell you this, but the Renault was designed to be thrown away once the battery goes bad.  They use the same technology as an electric toothbrush.

  2. If the flat cap is plastic, it's just a cosmetic cover.  Just pry it off.

If it's metal, you'll just have to learn French.

  3. The caps should unscrew to release the battery terminals. The green one's earth and the red one is +ve.hope this helps

  4. It depends on the location of the battery,If it is, its under the drivers seat. The drivers seat tilts to reveal the battery.
