  1. Haha it's your fault for falling for that scam you'll never be free ahaha! You can run but you'll never be able to hide even if you change your number hahahahah

  2. If you are in the Uk, there is the Telephone Preference Service, where you can subscribe for free to stop all 'cold calls' etc. It does take about three months to be active though, the lists of clients wishing not to be included needs to be circulated all round the companies that buy in client lists, hence the delay in sifting you out. The otrher option is to trace the companies that hold your details and ask them to remove you from their lists, keep copies of any letters as if you take this route, and they persist in calling you, you could have redress by using the Data Protection Act in that they have no reason to retain your details and are using it incorrectly. The details for the TPS should be in the telephone directory

In theory, this will eliminate calls from any company other than the one that you worked with. However, it probably won't. So go on...

When you get a call, you have to explicitly tell the caller that you want to be put on the company's no-call list. It is not enough to hang up or curse or anything like that.

If this is multiple companies (and it almost certainly is), you'll need to do it for each company. _Keep records_. If you tell a company not to call you and they do anyway, report them to whichever agency regulates this in your state. Also they are not allowed to call after 9PM your time, so if you're getting calls after that, even the first call is illegal. So are automated calls (tape recordings, autodialers), because they do not give you the required opportunity to be placed on a no-call list. Report any of these immediately.

When you get a call, you will have a hard time getting them to give you the company name. They're required by law to do so, though - every caller is required to give you the opportunity to be put on a no-call list. If they don't, do your best to figure it out, and report them.

Usually the call will be placed by some telemarketing firm on behalf of the time-share company. Tell the caller that you want to be put on the no-call lists of both. They'll pretend they have no idea what you're talking about.

Before you let them off the line, tell them that you're keeping records, and that if you receive another call it is a crime and it will be reported. I have occasionally told repeat offenders that further calls will be billed as consulting, at a high rate. I've never been bothered again after that.

    Be calm, and firm.

Finally, these calls continue because people buy things from telemarketers. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM A COLD CALL. EVER. It is utterly immoral, and it should be a crime, just as is soliciting prostitution or buying drugs.
