How do i remove rust and patch a hole in my trunk

Hello im from the uk and today when i was looking in the trunk i noticed some rust in the trunk, i stabbed it with a screwdriver and it made a hole, also on where the rubber sealing strip is that has rusted and made a hole, its only on one section of the trunk from where water has got in, how should i fix this rust ? and could i re-use the rubber seal? thanks

I'm not exactly sure about patching the hole in the trunk, but as far as removing the rust you can use some lemon juice and table salt.

One thing you can do it cut away the rust area about 1 inch bigger then the rust and fiberglass over the area, sand and paint it. or you can cut out a piece of sheet metal shape it to the area and rivet it in or weld it, and it down and paint over.
