  1. Yah. I also hate seeing red dotted lines.

Just ADD the word TO the DICTIONARY.

  2. There are two ways to remove the dotted lines. The first is to right-click in the text box, and click on "Spell check this field". This will tell Firefox to stop looking for spelling errors. However, this does not work if you want it to spell check, but you don't want the red lines to appear under proper nouns. The only thing you can do to get rid of only certain red lines is to right-click on the word, and select "Add to dictionary". The downside to this is that your computer's dictionary will start filling with incorrect words.

Those are the only two apparent ways to get rid of red lines.

  3. It's just the program's way of advising you that possibly you have made a spelling mistake or that it doesn't know the word or name. After all, as good as computers are, they can't know every single word or name in existence. As some has suggested, just add these words to your custom dictionary so the computer recognises them in future. To be honest, the only way I know of adding to dictionary is to put them in Word and add them there by right clicking on the word/s and adding to dictionary, but I imagine this would take effect in YA as well.
