The ".txt" is a file extension that computers use to differentiate between different types of files. These are important to have in every file name, so do not rename the file and delete them manually. Instead, have Windows hide the file extension. Go to Start menu and open (My) Computer. Click on Tools in the menu bar and choose Folder Options. Go to the View tab, and check the box next to "Hide extensions for known file types" in the "Advanced settings" section. Click OK to keep the change.

no you cant remove the .txt because if you remove it the file will be just a simple file and not a txt document. You can only hide it by opening my computer > tools > folder options and then uncheck the box that says show extensions.
