How do i remove unsecure networks set up in error on vista?

I HAVE MULTIPLE NETWORKS I HAVE SOMEHOW SET UP IN ERROR FOR MY HOME INTERNET CONNECTION.

1 LAPTOP USING WIRELESS ON VISTA HOME PREM'

1 PC USING WIRED CONNECTION TO HUB ON XP PRO SP2

ON MY VISTA NETWORK SELECTION SCREEN, I HAVE DUPLICATES OF MY HOME NETWORK LISTED, BUT WITH NUMBERS ON THE END (EG. "NETGEAR" (THE ONE I WANT TO KEEP), "NETGEAR 2" AND "NETGEAR 3")

I WANT TO KEEP THE FIRST ONE AS IT IS SECURITY ENABLED AND WORKS FINE, THE OTHER TWO ARE NOT SECURITY ENABLED AND NOT NEEDED. HOW CAN I DELETE THEM? I HAVE USED THE "MANAGE NETWORKS" UTILITY IN VISTA, BUT IT DOES NOT REMOVE THEM FROM THE "CONNECT TO A NETWORK" SCREEN ON NETWORK AND SHARING CENTRE.

ABOUT AT THE END OF MY TEHER, I KNOW I CAN FIX IT, BUT IT DOESNT SEEM TO WORK!!!! :(

please do not use all caps, it makes it harder to read.  if you right click on netgear 2,3 can you find somthing that says either delete or disable. delete/disable it and it should be good to go.

Go to [Start][Control Panel][Network and Internet][Network and Sharing Centre] then on the left hand side is [Manage Wireless Networks], this will list all your configured networks.  To delete one, click on it to select it, then right-click it, there will be a [Remove Network] option - this should sort you out.

Just drag the thing you don't want into the trash.

It's not a security problem - it's the Router's configuration that determines whether your connection is secure, not anything on your computer.

They must be other NETGEAR connections near you. You can tell your neighbors to turn theirs off, or change your ssid.

If you own he networks, unplug the routers you don't need.

If you have one router with multiple AP's, go to the configuration page (192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1, or 192.168.2.1)

And change it.

This should have nothing to do with your computers.
