How do i remove very old info off credit report when i dont know the company?

I just received a copy of my credit report and there is information that is 10 years old or older and the abbreviation is not helpful how can I get the information I need to contact them to fix the status of the information as inactive

  1. Contact the credit reporting bureau that sent the report.  They should know the names of the companies when there is only an abbreviation.  There should also be a phone number. Good luck.


  2. If you are just wanting the information removed entirely, dispute it to the bureaus as "too old" or "not mine" and see if they remove it.
