make sure you turn off system restore first and run this

Try to remove it from the programs before you do anything more desperate.  Access them through the Settings - Control Panel -  Add/Remove Programs, and follow the removal instructions on the menu.  Check first to see if it is in the programs in your computer as something you might have accidentally downloaded yourslef by clicking a wrong button.  

If you continue to have problems after the program has been removed, consider the possibility that your program either is a virus or has some characteristics that resemble a virus.  Try to remove the virus at that point, possibly with Restore disks (after saving outside the computer what you can and would like to save).

The same thing happed to me for my xp computer. Anti virus 2008 is not a legit software it says there are like 3000 viruses in your com to scare you into buying it's pro version. All i did was a system restore to get rid of it!
