  1. You have to establish the cause first. Is it electrical or mechanical?

    Mechanical Causes:-

    Faulty piston, rings or bore

    Faulty head gasket

    Vacuum leaks

    Faulty valves or springs

    Electrical causes:-

    Faulty plug lead

    Faulty or fouled plug

    Insulation breakdown/voltage leak
