The catch here is that when I boot up I get an error message "lsass.exe unable to locate component. This app failed to start because SAMLIB.dll was not found" Once I click OK to make the error message go away, Windows never loads. I can't get to the system to fix the system!

    Start

    Programs

    Accessories

    System Tools

    System Restore  :)

  5. Your password library is corrupt.  This is usually the result of an attempt to hijack your PC.

You need your original Windows disk.

Put it in the drive and boot up.  Make sure you have set the BIOS to boot from your CD/DVD drive first.

When you get to the first screen, say that you want to install windows (NOT repair it).

The next screen should then say that it has found a previous windows installation, do you want to repair it?  Say yes and hope for the best.
