How do i reset my dvd player settings on my ps2 slim?

Question

ok so i was changing my DVD Parental Control on the ps2 slim because it kept asking for a password everytime i would watch a movie that was rated r or whatever so i went into setting and then before i got there i changed something in there and my screen went blank so i restart it and put a movie in and in goes into play and my screen goes black but i hear sound just no picture i can play games though it only does this on movies because when i changed my settings i did it when i was watching a movie so its in the dvd player setting so i'm wondering how do you reset the dvd player settings if you can't even get a picture on the screen off the dvd player screen

please help me so i don't have to trade it in lol

Sounds more like a cabling issue rather than the DVD player itself. But if you want to try a reset, just unplug it for a few minutes. That'll cause what's know in the industry as a `hard reset'. try to do that ok hope this helps out cause we had the same thing happen to my son ps2 slim all so :)ava06
