  1. My shop that i go to has to scan it then cancel the problem out for the light to go off. Mine is an 03

  2. you can either unplug the battery. it m ay come back on if there is something malfunctioning with the car. You can go to your local auto parts store (napa, auto zone, advance auto parts) and they can see what  is causing the light to come on for FREE and you can solve the small problem before it turns into a expensive repair

    Good Luck

  3. You can't on your own. You have to go to a dealer or a shop that specifically addresses that in order to fix it. Also, you could buy your own device that will read the error codes, but they're quite pricey.

    Hope that helps.

  4. On MY car, you merely disconnect the battery for a few seconds.

  5. try disconnect the battery for a few sec. or min. and that should work or if u have the money take it to a mechanic

  6. You need to take your car in to get checked! It means there's something wrong.

  7. Disconnect the negative lead from the battery for five minutes and then reconnect it. That should do it.  If not, you still have some codes that have not been resolved.

  8. did you find out why your car was showing a check engine light in the first place?

  9. Take it to a local auto parts store (around here we have Checker Auto Parts, NAPA, etc) and they should be able to clear the code for you for free. Assuming that the problem was fixed though, the car should clear it itself.

  10. just unplug the battery cable for a few minutes and that will do it for a little time because if you didn't find out why the ligth was on i will show again
