  1. There's two possibilities:

    1) You're CD Drives broken. If you've ripped lots of CD's this could have caused it. Ripping CD's is really intensive on a disc drive and can break it.

    or

    2) You need to reinstall the drivers for your CD Drive. The drivers should be on a disk that came with your computer or on the manufacturers website.

  2. Try going into "My Computer"

Find the CD drive and right click on it.

That should give you options to explore, view or rip the audio.

If you do not see the drive listed, make sure that the light comes on the drive.  If not there may not be power to the drive.  If there is a light but not listing then you may need to go into setup to add hardware.  You may need to remove then reinstall the drivers.

Myself I went  back to xp

  3. It's probably the cd drive is worn out - happened to me last year - got a new one for about £20!

  4. It might be that your disc drive is busted. That happened to me last year.  It always worked fine, then one day it wouldn't recognize when I put a disc in.  It would still say that the disc drive was empty.   Contact they manufacturer of your PC.  They should have answers for you.
