  1. You need what is called a KVM switch, or Keyboard-Video-Mouse switch.  It allows 1 monitor, 1 keyboard, and 1 mouse to use 2 machines.  You have to switch back and forth between them, which is usually done by key commands or a button on the KVM switch, but this is the only way you can do what you need to do.  They sell these online all over the place at online stores like TigerDirect, Newegg, or even on eBay.  Just get a 2-port model and you should be good to go!

  2. You need a device called a KVM Switch.  Basically you hook all your computers into the switch, then you toggle between them.  Your local Best Buy will carry them.

  3. i dont think thats possible. maybe ur mixing it up? because you can only provide two screens (moniters) for 1 computer (the big box, also called a tower.)

  4. I believe you can buy a VGA switch and hook both computers up to it, and then yo should be able to switch back and forth, but I don't believe it is possible to get both on the monitor at the same time.

  5. You need what is called a KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) switch.  You can easily find them if you Google "KVM switch" and look under shopping.

A KVM switch allows you to use one keyboard, monitor, and mouse for multiple computers.  Just make sure that the connections that the KVM switch use are compatible with your equipment.

  6. Yes you can do it if you buy the conector, I have one they called Miniview 2 port switch, they have 3 sides for conect key, mouse, monitor and then they have the cables to conecct to each PC, and you can have the 2 PCs running in once, and by pressing a botton you can switch from one to the another one, my is old one, I do not know if the new ones, can show both PCs in the same time.

  7. You can buy a monitor/keyboard/mouse switch.

You can only run one item at a time for each computer but to make it cheaper and space saver the switch is very convenient.

You can find those switches on ebay or other computer part stores and usually cost around $15.

  8. Yes. If your monitor has 2 input slots, generally a DVI In and a VGA In. Of course at least one of your computers has to have a DVI output if you have a DVI input slot for the monitor. There are adapters that allow you to convert DVI signals to VGA signals in case you have 2 DVI outputs, 0 VGA outputs and 1 DVI In, 1 VGA In. Usually they come with the monitor or with the graphics card.

Once you've connected both graphics cards / computers to the monitor, you should be able to switch between both by pressing the Select button (or DVI/VGA select or input select or something like it).

  9. if your monitor has 2 inputs for computers you can plug both of them in BUT you cant use them at the same time on one monitor.

  10. I dont think so, cause a monitor can only take in 1 hard drive at a time, sorry.

  11. a k-v-m switch let's you hook up 2 to 4 computers to ONE monitor, mouse and keyboard

    it is easy really

just start a google search and they come up in all price ranges

    in cyberspace since '82

yeah before windows was created in '90

  12. when you are using one computer, connect the monitor to that computer, if you are thinking about  using both computers at the same time my friend, i guess that you don't even know what the word monitor means.

  13. Yes, you will need a "switch" that will take the signal of both and allow you to pass it between systems.  Below is the link to tell you more about the KVM and where you can go to buy it.
