How do i run Microsoft Net Framework?

Well i've been asked to run it but it is a passive program that automatically runs when i turn on computer or is it a program i have to run automatically? like is it in my computer?

It shows up as an optional update in Windows/Microsoft Update. You're covered if you just select .NET 3 (You can ignore 1.1 & 2). Make sure you then re-update because .NET 3 has important hotfixes that need to be installed after it is initially put on your system. You can download the installer from Microsoft directly at the link below, but you should still get your security updates after installing it.
