  1. You'll might not believe this, but it is the fastest way to get faster.

Run downhill and then when you get on the level you'll be faster. I don't know why that works, but it does.

  2. Run around your neighborhood a couple times a day. You'll get faster as your muscles get stronger. Good luck!

  3. you have to run suicides they make you faster

  4. You can't make a dramatic difference in one week.  All the advice give to you are really good but won't make a huge difference in one week.  You're going to have to train hard and longer than a week to see the results.  I'm just being realistic because I don't want to have you disappointed thinking you can go from 5.6 to 4.8 or less in a week.  Also if you think you can and kill yourself training trying to get that in a week, you'll be more vulnerable to injuries and may not run at all.  Take your time and do it right.  Think of the bigger picture.  You have time yet to get faster as well as grow into your body.  Good luck and keep at it.

  5. Run on your toes and take small, quick, strong steps. Only let your toes touch the ground.

And this is a message for footballdad, overnight success is possible. I became fast by watching the T.V. show "Inuyasa", a japanese cartoon about daemons and magic. I copied how the main character runs, as well as copied Sonic the Hedgehog, and voila! Instant speed daemon.

  6. run downhill and it should help increse ur 40 by about a half a second at least. thts wat it did for me. jus curious.are you trying out for you highschool team?

  7. first work on your agility and then just sleep eat and run make that your everyday routine.

    good luck :)

  8. First of all your speed is determined by quick (twitch) muscle development, you don't mention age, body size but a 5.6 is average for a lineman in high school on the medium side.  To get your speed to a sub 5 for a rb position takes more time than a week.  But you can help yourself by stretching for at least 15 minutes assuming you know how to hurdler stretch, groin stretch, etc., then just continue to do your running, developing quickness is not done overnight, so don't get discouraged, just keep on trying, don't quit until you reach your goal.  If you don't have access to a personal trainer, google some training videos on the net.  Good Luck Son - I have 10 years in coaching kids just like you and it is always hard work that provides results, there is no overnight wonder training, just hard work with a knowledgeable coach.
