To love is to aisuru, to have love is aishiteru or aishiteiru. Many, many couples never use this word.

The best, most common way to say you love someone is "daisuki dayo"!

It is used 99% of the time.

in hiragana だいすきだよ in kanji 大好きだよ。

suki = like

dai = great, large, big

dayo! = informative declaration

Pronunciation:

Dai-skii-da-yo!

Don't mistake it with the pronunciation of the boy's name daisuke (Die-su-kay)
