How do i send a sms to a person's mobile, who is in india, through yahoo messenger?

hi i wanted to send a sms to a person's cellphone, who lives in india.. i have that person's cell number. and i want to knoe if that is possible with yahoo messenger.. and also please tell me the steps to follow while sending a sms.i tried to send that person but it didn't work. since im from the us. i had to use the area code 011.. but it didn't work.. so please help me..thanks
