How do i send money to Hong Kong from US so i can use it when i get there.?

im going to hong kong soon and i need money to spend there.

how do i transfer US money to Hong kong money ?

how do i know how to get it when i go hong kong ?

Go and talk to your bank. they will tell you various different ways to do things.If you are going to be a tourist you can change us dollars to Hong Kong dollars at the airport or banks or currancy exchange booths. You can take an eftpos card with you and draw some out over there. Or a credit card a travel card a debit card or Travellers cheques. If you are going to live then once you get there you can open a bank account then get your money transfered. So the bank is the place for advice to suit yourself

You can just use your ATM card to get money out in the local currency when you get there.  You could also carry travelers checks...though sometimes they are a pain to cash.  No need to send money there.  It is a good idea to call the customer service number on the card and tell them you will be in Hong Kong, so they will not think your card has been stolen.

You don't need to transfer money there. You can exchange your money here at your bank. They can get your HK dollars within three-four buisness days. I did that for my trip. That way you'll have money with you when you land. Also have some travelers checks. You can exchange them at the hotel or bank. But the commission is pretty high.

Why not just bring US dollars with you to Hong Kong and exchange it through a Hong Kong bank?? It is better and faster this way.
