if you use mp3's as your base, you can download a free mp3 trimmer and trim the front and back, to get a clip you can use

(i use it to make my own MP3 ringtones)

then you can use those modified MP3 files to create an audio CD

its sooo confusing to explain here, if u type like 'making ringtones from itunes' and follow the first couple of steps it tells u how u cut parts of songs and make them new songs eg like 3 seconds. hope this helps
