  1. You need a HD source to watch HD TV. The most common are Sky HD, which carries a £10 month subscription on top of the normal Sky fees.

Also you need and HD-DVD/BluRay player and the right discs to watch in HD. You cant at the moment pick up HD transmissions through your ariel/Sky+/Freeview etc.

  2. It could e a weak signal. I would reccomend taking it back, if its still in the guarentee they have no choice but ot replace it/mend it. hope this helps

  3. plug the cable on the back or front of your tv

  4. If you have an HD set top cable box.....you have to program it.  Mine is Scientific Atlantic and it is done by the following steps:

    1.  Turn the box off - TV on

    2.  Push guide and info buttons together

    3.  Follow steps for advanced set-up

    4.  Select 1080i and 480p(if using HDMI cable) or 480i (component cables) as the only two resolutions

    5.  Turn box back on and click settings twice

    6.  Under video or display select pass-through or auto dvi

Your TV should now display standard channels in 480p or 480i (this is how they are best viewed).  And automatically switch to 1080i for an HD channel.

    Good luck!
