How do i set taunts for online play in super smash bros brawl?

Go on Friend Roster online and click on your profile. Type in stuff in the taunt boxes.

You should know the taunt buttons hopefullly.

If you mean the text whenever you taunt, you need to set that up in your profile. Go...

Wi-fi > Friendly Brawl > Friend Roster

Select your name on there, and it'll show a window where you can change the text on your taunts. Put them in, and then you can use them online. They are only for online and only usable in friend battles. To use them, use the D-Pad on the Gamecube controller, 1, 2, or 1+2 on the Wiimote and Nunchuck, and A, A+1, and A+2 with the Wiimote by itself.

After connecting to Nintendo Wifi, go to With Friends and then to your Friend Roster. Click on You and type in whatever you please. What you type cannot be seen by random opponents from around the world; only by people you play with in your Friends List.
