How do i set up a ftp (file transfer protocol) website

it would be great if u guys and girls could tell me this. i want to be able to share some of my larger files like videos. could it also be possible to password protect my website

But frankly I wouldn't advise it due to the security risks of opening your system:

You'll also have to check if it's even possible to host this kind of server on your connection type. Many providers close incoming connections to frequently used ports such as 80 (http), 21 (ftp), or 25 (smtp) for security reasons.

You might also be violating your providers terms and conditions by hosting an FTP server, best to check that out too.
