How do i set up a pro weather station? and how can i go about receiving satellite images to my pc? (weather)?

  1. Hi there.. A few years ago, I used to receive weather station down-links. I built my own receivers, mainly because I'm a radio ham... Anyway, you will need to buy a dedicated receiver, so look on line for Sat weather Rx's and the programs Will come with the receiver. You will need a antenna rotator, and some antennas tuned for the various frequencies, but I guess, at a pinch, you could use a discone antenna..... Best of luck.. Tony

    You will need a aerial for each form of transmission, an RF section - a scanner is good as it covers many of the different frequencies. then you need to decode the signals. Nowadays it will all be done in software on a PC I guess, it used to be done in bespoke hardware..
