What you need to check is if the dvd recorder has two tuners as even though it has two scarts one is normally for the input source and the other is for the output signal to tv when you try to tune in the dvd recorder to signals either from the sky/cable or analogue does the tuner in the dvd recorder ggive you the option to tune in more than one if not you can only record from one source so you need to choose which oneplus you said it is a dvd player you cant record on a player

right. couple of questions... where is your freeview source? standalone freeview box or direct from tv. and what brands are they.. (model numbers would be a bonus) do you want to set up a timer or just record while watching?

there's a couple of ways to do it :-  1. plug your freeview box into your dvd recorder then dvd recorder into tv,  i think you will need to have your dvd player on to watch it though ....or freeview to dvd and freeview to tv,you just need to turn your dvd on when you want to record something
