hi, i am nto up on these things at all, i really dont know whats going on...i hope to set up a small venture here is what i want to do:

i have some expertise int he CV and cover writing area, i am always rewriting these for friends. i have noticed people really dont know whats going on with CVs a lot of the time. so i want to advertise via a website for people to send in their CVs and covering letters, personal statements whatever they want rewriting. i wil rewrite them within 38 hours and email them back. they pay me £10 per bundle via paypal i guess. i charge this for each bundle of documents i get from each person. basically i need to know:

what are the legal requirements on me for doing this? will i need to declare it as a small business or can i just set this up and go for it?

how do i set the site up and link my paypal account to it?

thanks for you advice and expertise.

  1. As far as I know your service will not be classed as a "legal" service, so I don't think you will need any sort of license for it.

As long as you make it clear to customers what they are getting, make sure they know, if you will revise the CV if they don't like it.  Will you charge for the revision you would that be free.

You might have to register with Data protection commissioner, you need to check if you need to register or not.

Well any income from any source has to be declared to the Tax office, you will have to register as self employer (its pretty simple - and you will fill)

You will need to open a PayPal account.

PayPal is easy to setup with a website, but if you are not that good with websites then you can pay someone to do it for you.

(I'm assuming you are from UK, but most of the stuff will apply anywhere)
