Hi,

Burton's are a very tricky species of legless lizards to keep and breed successfully but once you have got it there actual a very good and entertaining species to keep and watch as for sexing them its ab it like bearded dragons hold the lizard in your hand and bend the tail back ab it either you will see 2 bumps or a hollow cave type thing bumps equals males and cave equals female so you get the idea, Bur tons are a very difficult to get feeding on pinkie mice although some breeders have been able to do so with alot of trails and error they are predominately skink eaters so if you have alot of skinks around your place you will be fine if not id suggest you sell it or let it go but as for legless lizards id suggest you go with eastern hooded scaly foot lizards first they are great fun to watch at feeding time and are predominately insectivores.

OK , this one made me really think.don't hold me to this one cause Burton's are a very obscure animal in the hobby and I've never kept nor bred them but i have known breeders of other legless lizards (mostly glass lizards) . but i believe males have prominent cloacal spurs female less prominent or absent. again  this is an educated guess
