  1. Hey!

It's easy. But you will never be able to do it if you not practice it. Maybe you should shot with your left hand more than your right for a few hours and then,  getting used to make left handed layups. You'll need to do left handed layups in the games and it's really important to handle it.

Practice it. Practice and practice. Lol!

    You'll get it! =D

Believe me....it's a easy thing and you'll be able to do it if you practice it.

    Thanks

    Eddie!

  2. ok, start on the left side when you reach near to the hoop pick up the ball take one step forward with your left than one step with you right and jump off of your right foot while u are in the air aim the ball at the middle of the backboard

  3. The way i learned how to do left hand layups was just getting down the basics of it just like how when you probably learned how to do your right hands lay ups. After that it is just practice. After you practiced enough of it by yourself, use pick-up games to practice using it with creativity, because if you do too many drills and think too much about learning how to get it down pat, it will be easy to read for the defender and he will have a very good chance of blocking it.   Just keep practicing it and I can't stress enough how important it is to let your left hand moves be natural and creative.  GOOD LUCK

  4. i had the same problem too when i was 15. i was a 5'7 shooting guard and had left handed problems, my dad took me to a trainer and he taught me how. put the ball in ur left hand and step with your right leg while lifting your left leg, just like when u do a right handed lay up but dont release the ball and dont jump. just keep stepping with your right leg and lifting ur left leg up and pretend ur doing a lay up with the left hand but dont release the ball and dont jump. do it over and over again for about 3 sets and (10 times a set) for a week and it'll do the trick, also wen u go to the park and have some fun playin, try using ur left more often to practice it. my last advice is, just remember to keep practicing it or you'll lose your touch. =p you're d**n tall for a 14 year old, and hope you turn out great in HS basketball and probably even college ball.

  5. practice firsts doing normal layups

    then start doing finger rolls

finger rolls become really simple when you practice them

    just work on oyourr form

  6. What up Jarvis,

i think you should probably start by practicing - like in a layup line- that way you have the dribble and the footwork down.  i also try to shoot left handed layoffs off spins- so that my body naturally protects the ball.  And you can learn this so also that allows you to use your right a little bit to cradle the ball if your left hand is not strong enough yet.  After awhile it'll feel as natural as spinning either side.

Practice is the key though- i hurt my right wrist badly once- so i had to start shooting with my left- and that's how i learned- but it took me about a month before i got decent with it- and now it's like 2nd nature.

    Good luck,

    Nickster

  7. Just concentrate on getting down the steps first. That was the hardest part for me bcuz i'm naturally a left footed jumper. Make sure you jump off your right foot and use the glass.

  8. just try a bunch of different forms no matter how funky they look and one them will work. my form for left handers is horribly ugly but it works so if aint broke dont fix it.

  9. do what i did i had the same proble, go to the basket slowlly and use two hands at first, the move at a faster pace an use one hand, dont try finger rolls just yet, work on regular lay-ups. every time you r working on your game set a certian amount of left hand lay-ups you have to make befor you leave. if you r ready to go you will find a way to make the lefthand layups. remember it is just like the right hand, it will take some time but keep at it and you will eventually get it. think of it like this your left elbow is connected to the top of your left knee wuith a string and the have to go up together. thats is what helped me

  10. with your left hand?
