How do i show songs i'm listening to?

my friend has it where you can see what song they're hearing but idk how to do it. i have itunes but idk if that works. 10 pts for step by step instructions that are clear!

go to windows media player and under NOW PLAYING there is a down arrow , click it , click plug-ins ,click options , then click backgroound form the list of categories and make a tick near WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER MUSIC PLUS
