How do i shrink a 80% cotton 20% polyester hoodie about half a size ?

i just don't want to shrink it to much

wash it in HOT water and dry on HOT!

It'll shrink.

Need to edit.(half a size)is hard to get right, but i say wash in warm first, look at it before using the dryer. if no shrinkage, dry on hot. if still not enough, try again, but not excessive hot. go check on the garment a few times while its washing and then again while drying.
