How do i shrink a shirt w/o fading the color?

i have a dark blue ae tshirt that i want to shrink w/o fading the color. hot water and heat drying is how to shrink it..but what about the color?

  1. If the shirt contains cotton, the more cotton the more likely it will shrink just from the heat of the dryer.  But as to how it will shrink is not controllable.  The fibre's in the shirt won't all necessarily shrink consistently.  You could end up with a shirt that's allot narrower, but still as long or vice versa.  Too hot a dryer can set winkles into a fabric that won't come out with an iron as well.  I'd wash and wear the item as recommended on the label or have someone alter the shirt for you with a sewing technique.  

    Otherwise good luck, you are correct about hot water and hot dryer for shrinking.


  2. put some vinegar into the rinse this will keep the colour from bleeding , and make sure that you are not using a bleach of any kind .
