  1. Wash it in the warm cycle [if it's indigo, it will dull the color] and then dry them on high. The only problem is that if there's spandex, then it may not shrink.

  2. ok, to keep the color, wash them inside out! then put them in the drier with the rest of the wet clothes... it should shrink a little bit.. if not, wash and dry it again!

  3. dont wear them and put them in the wash a billion times till you get the size you want

  4. u wash them then put them 2 dry on high or as high as it goes

  5. Wash them in hot water about 10 times and dry them LONG on the hottest heat for about the same amount of times and I guarantee you they will be one size smaller!!  You might want to check after about the fifth time, they might already be shrunk.  If not, go all 10 times!

  6. Put them on and sit in a bath of warm water for an hour or so, and then let them dry on you. ( known as shrink fit)

  7. Just wash them a few times then instead of drying them, air dry them while you have em' on, (best when its hot)

  8. If your jeans are already "pre-shrunk", you'll be out of luck.

To shrink jeans that have never been washed (or "pre-washed"), you can wash them in warm water and then dry them with high heat in the dryer. Usually the first time takes care of it, but it may take more if the jeans are very large or are not 100% cotton. I wouldn't try more than twice, since there really is only so far you can shrink the cotton fibers (which is why pre-shrunk or pre-washed jeans don't shrink after you buy them).

One thing you can do without returning the jeans, is to go to an alteration shop.  Most dry cleaners provide the service or at least will be able to tell you where to go. You won't be the first person with this problem, so they should know how to take care of you. A word of warning, though, try shrinking them yourself first. If they suddenly got smaller *after* you had them altered.. Yikes!  I hate to think of it!!

  9. unfortunately, unless they are made from 100% cotton, they won't shrink. look on the label. if they have any kind of polyester, elastic, spandex or lycra included with the cotton, they will not shrink no matter what you do. so sorry! even 100% cotton jeans sometimes won't shrink either. my advice after buying tons of ill-fitting jeans is this: try them on (no matter what) while you are at the store. make sure they are snug, almost hard to button up. they will loosen up as you wear them at home. some jeans will shrink back up when washed, but only 100% cotton. also, i've learned that more expensive jeans seem to be made of a better fitting fabric that holds it shape and doesn't go baggy in the butt like the cheaper ones do. (meaning $80 or $90 and up)

  10. put them in the tumbledryer, but check them...it works  my mum always shrinks mine ...even when they fit! :@
