How do I delete a group? What happens to a group once it's deleted?

If you’re the group owner or a moderator with the necessary privileges to delete a group, you’ll see the link to delete a group in the lower-right corner of the Management page.

Important: Deleting a group is permanent! Proceed with caution.

If you click the Delete group button, you’ll remove the group from Yahoo! Groups, unsubscribe all members, and eliminate all archives, shared files, and calendars.

If you started the group, then you should be able to turn it off. if it isn't your group then you have no business trying to stop it and if you don't like the group just don't go to it. It's not  mandatory attendance. Just go away it's that simple.

there is no live person from Yahoo to speak with; all there is, is the help forms. since you require a live person, I'd assume you have a complaint about a group. I'd suggest reading the TOS and see if there are any violations before you contact yahoo through a help form
