  1. what new way is there??

That is new one to me

If it is prison or federal you must be on the persons visit list

you can call the jail get his number and mail him a letter asking him to put you on his or her visiting list.

That is the only thing i have ever heard of for visits and it sure ain't new.

city lock up may have a list in some places but mostly all you need is to be a adult and have a ID

The person does have the right to refuse the visit though Also if you are a ex con or recently released from that prison they may have rules about visits in that case i know when i was in federal they would not allow me to visit my boyfriend at the time who was still in when i got out because I had been in a fed prison too

  2. Visitation lists are normally created by the inmate. You need to be on the list to visit.

The actual procedure will vary with each facility, you need to call the one where the inmate is being held.

  3. some inmates have no visitation rights plus they can deny a visit. in state prison you must be invited by the prisoner, have filled out your approval/application form which the prisoner must mail to you and then the prison runs a check/scan on you and you are either approved or denied. good luck
