How do i simplify this math problem? 1-7/2x<2-x?

  1. For 1-(7/2)x&lt;2-x

    Multiply everything by 2 to get rid of all fractions:

    (2)1 - (2)(7/2)x &lt; (2)2 - (2)x

    2 - 7x &lt; 4 - 2x

    Add 2x to both sides

    2 - 5x &lt; 4

    Subtract 2 from both sides:

    -5x &lt; 2

    Divide both sides by -5 (which switches the &lt; to &gt;):

    x &gt; -2/5

  2. 1-7 = -6

    so...    -6/2x &lt; 2-x

    then you need to isolate the &#039;x&#039;

    so...    -6-2 &lt; -2x^2

    then simplify

    ...    -8 &lt; -2x^2

    you can stop there or keep going to solve for x
