  1. Having an antivirus in your system surely will slow down your pc, because it's always scanning your system, especially during start up.

Try uninstalling norton, this will speed up your pc. In case you got infected , by virus, you can install it again. Also you can delete old and unecessary files.Disk clean up is also advisable. Go to start>> my computer>>right click- local disk ( C.) >>properties >> Disk clean up ... hope this helps !

  5. u have plenty of ram, but u didn't mentioned ur processor speed. any way, norton AV slows down pc. if possible try kaspersky anti virus. it doesn't affect pc performance.

here's a quick tips to speed up ur pc performance... click start -> run -> type "msconfig" a windows will appear named system configuration utility. hit startup. here u'll find the programs that'll run on windows boot. just uncheck the unnacessary programs. i think u'll get a little bit speed.

there r more advanced tips to improve windows performance.

    thx.

  6. you can change the processor. Also, delete your cookies and clear your hard drive as much as you can. you can also try to delete some of the programs from starting up when you logon. if you have 2 many windows open at once, teh speed will be bad also. Delete your cookies.

  7. Defragment your hard disk, overclock your cpu not more than 500 MHz(it will melt),check your hard disk erors.
