  1. why do you want to breed him?

check out this site then come back to me...

  2. 1st you go to your local breed club branch or find a a breeder in your area and then you find a breed mentor.

2nd - you spend the next handful of years  showing your dog working him towards his Championship in conformation, learning about the various bloodlines, MS genetics and the breed in general inside and out

3rd - you get his hips eyes elbows and ears tested. You go over his own pedigree was he bred from champions? Recent ones not some great great grandfather who had one championship.

HOWEVER if you dog is a: the wrong color has any disqualifying markings, is too big too small  too short  too tall has the wrong body the wrong head the wrong coat or anything else that is a fault as per the breed standard you trash your plans to stud him out and get him snipped

  3. i'm not sure, but good luck anyways

  4. You start by showing your dog in conformation shows.  You earn a CH title on him, and get him known.

When he is 2 years old, you get his genetic health tests done, OFA, CERF, BAER, Optigen, and PennHip are valuable tests to rule out genetic health problems.

Also dont forget his brucellosis tests.

If he's worth breeding, you will get offers from breeders you meet in the show ring.

  5. You contact your local Schnauzer breed club through the AKC website. AKC.org. You begin showing your dog in conformation so he gets a Champion Status. When he is 2 years old you get your dog genetically health tested. Then you can begin studding him out. Once he wins his Champion status people will come to you to use your dog for a stud.

  6. You need to get in contact with a local breed club and find yourself a mentor. A LOT of work goes into preserving good bloodlines and keeping the gene pool clean.
