How do i start a lanyard with plastic lace??

Question

i was up all night trying to work on my lanyard....

but i for got how to start the knot

i just want a simple square knot can some one please help me???

I haven't done it in a while either but I think this is how you do it.

Start with the two laces making a cross. Bottom lace: bring one end up and over so both ends are on the same side, then bring the other end up and over so it is on the side the first lace was to begin with.  

Now the lace that was on top: bring one end up and over the first loop and under the second loop, bring the other end up and over the first loop and under the second loop.
