dude you need to specify on what your petition is all about... ur question is too broad.... but here's a hint if ur doing a petition in your community or school, or at ur workplace u need to go around the place and get the people's signatures and explain to them the goal & purpose of ur petition...

if ur doing a petition like taking ur family from other country u need to visit or ask the immigration office... i hope this help
