  1. if you need to ask questions like this on the internet, you probably shouldn't be owning any business.

PS... i would never do business with someone who can't spell.

  2. You My Friend Are Shot Out....

  3. The best, easiest  and cheapest way (which is actually still very difficult and quite expensive) is to hire an already licensed and established distiller to produce the liquor for you on contract.  Go to http://www.distilling.com/PDF/distilling... to see if there is a distiller operating in your area.

As for cost, you will most likely be responsible not only for the materials and labor to produce the liquor, but also taxes, formula registration, label approval and storage.  You will also be charged fees for paperwork and other overhead the distiller incurs just to produce your liquor. If you're thinking a couple of grand will get you started, think again.  The distiller is going to want a big chunk of change up front.  Most likely they will assume no risk to produce your product, so don't bother asking if they'd be willing to front you any of the costs or labor.

You will also need to establish a relationship with a distributor if you live in a "tied house" state.  What this means is that you cannot sell spirits directly to consumers, restaurants, bars and retailers.  You will need to sell to a distributor or wholesaler.  In some states, the state acts as the distributor.  You'll have to do your research.

If you're thinking you'd like to produce a premium vodka or gin you may want to take a trip to a really good liquor store in your area.  Count how many different brands of vodka they're selling.  What is going to make yours better?  You need to have an outstanding product along with good promotion.  This isn't cheap or easy either.

The bottom line is that it is an incredibily difficult, expensive and tedious process to establish your own brand of liquor.  Try and establish a relationship with a distiller and see what happens.  Good luck.

  4. First, conquer spelling or the keyboard. After you do this, then we will talk about a business.
