How do i start my own home daycare?

i know alot about home day cares my mom had one for 11 years but i just dont know where to start ....im in maryland and i dont know who to call or email to get started! if some one could give me a website or a number to call for the state of maryland it would mean alot ... thank you!!!

You need to find the local licensing agency. They will have guidelines for you to follow.

take a class and then findsome information and put an ad in the paper

My aunt doesn't have a teachers degree or anything and she started her own preschool. It is up and running and she is earning quite a bit of money. All you have to do is prepare a room in your house, probably make a web about it:

And tell your friends about it! Have fun and make sure you have reasonable prices or people won't sign up. Make sure you have a printable sign-up sheet that people can fax to you with their info.

You need to contact your state licensing office or check with the nearest college or community college. There are many rules and regulations but there seems to be help from agencies too. Good luck.

Go to your local yellow pages and look under child care or home child care, you will find agencies that can get you started. The agencies are a great help, they give you everything you need and help you program plan and stuff. They are great for getting started. Good luck!!

that is the link to the state regs. for maryland.  it will tell you the requirements for having a home daycare.  call the licensing agency in your area to get started in the process.  they may even be able to help you with start up costs (grants that you can apply for).  if you have any further questions, feel free to e me privately.
