  1. Quick correction would be to close your stance and club face a ton.  This is not the right solution, but if you don't golf often it might suffice.  Without actually seeing your swing it's impossible to tell.

From and overhead view you want your swing path through the ball to look like / or |, not like \.  There are tons of way to correct it.

  2. close the club face and roll your hands over or aim more to the left. practices practices practices.

  3. Try to finish all the way through. Gary Player takes a step through after the swing with the right foot to promote a good balance transfer. Remember that if you swing inside to out, away from your feet, you can impart opposite spin on the ball, and draw it left.

  4. Roll your bottom hand in at address.  Turning it in will keep you from dropping your shoulder on follow through.  Line-up the as you usually do, then turn the  hand in a half inch or so.  If you hook the next shot you've turned it in too far.

I did what you are doing for years.  I took one lesson with a pro and poof, it was cured.  You'll enjoy the knowledge of knowing how to slice or hook at will from now on.

    Good luck,

  5. If you are slicing you are producing an out to in swing path that will inevitable cause a slice everytime.  There are contributing factors to that including your stance, alignment and grip and any or all three of those could be causing your problem.  Smoothness of tempo (swingspeed) could also factor.  Brush up on the basics and go to the range and start with a wedge doing half swings.  As your ball flight straightens and you build confidence increase to a 3/4 then to a full swing and slowly increase your club selection.....wedge to 9 iron to 7 iron........etc.  See if that helps.  I always revert to the basics when my shots erode and my confidence drops.

  6. try every thing you can think of then... try this.  move your front foot about 3 inches or so in front of your back foot then make a normal swing that should help.

  7. You have to first realize what you are doing to cause the slice. It happens by putting side spin on the ball, that comes from poor contact. You need to start with the basics, I would suggest you get the book by Ben Hogan, 7 Fundamentals of the golf swing, It's a great book and helps you build a proper swing and set up, from the grip to making proper contact. It helped me immensely and now I can hit the shots I want when I want.

  8. There are many reasons why one slices the ball. The most common being swinging too hard. The next being an improper grip.

Trying to get more distance by swinging harder will often throw off the swing plane and end up in a slice. Try slowing it down a bit and keep your swing plane in line with your target.

If you grip the club with your thumbs lined up at 12:00, try shifting them back just a bit so that it seems you are pushing the club with your thumbs. This is known as a strong grip. That doesn't mean you should grip the club tighter. You should still have a gentle squeeze on the handle as if you are holding a banana. You don't want to moosh the banana.

A stronger grip will help in closing the club face at impact. A slice happens when the club face is left open at impact.

  9. lock up all of your knives.
