  1. just

    don't brush her  teeth

  2. You can't they always swallow the tooth paste and it won't doo them any harm.

Try and get in on her teeth the minute she opens her mouth you have to be quick or just let her chew on the tooth brush 3-4 times a day.

  3. buy the one that has no floride in it that is safe to swallow

  4. BRUSH YOUR TEETH INFRONT OF HER AND SHOW HER STEP BY STEP HOW YOURE SUPPOSED TO BRUSH YOUR TEETH.SHE'LL GET THE IDEA

  5. i dont know just buy kids toothpaste the kinds thats safe to swallow

  6. when me and my sitter were little we would eat toothpaste all the time cause we had the flavored kids toothpaste. encourage her not too, pretend she is stealing from her teeth or say its icky and her tummys mad at her or something. or you can just get gross tasting adult toothpastes, you will have to give her less and it will not taste good

  7. just get the toothpaste that is fluoride-free and it says for childeren or kids or infants or something like that anyways......

  8. I actually wouldn't brush my 2 year olds teeth with toothpaste. I was told by a dentist that kids really don't need it until they are about 5-6 when they start losing their teeth and the adult teeth come in. Maybe you could brush your teeth with her and show her how you do it. Also - for healthier teeth look for a toothpaste without fluoride in it.

  9. Most kids will swallow toothpaste, they don't know it can be bad for them.  Just buy the kids toothpaste that won't her.

  10. We use Gerber and Orajel 'Training toothpaste' for our kids. My 5 year old knows how to spit, but its just safer for her to have that incase if she swallows it by mistake. Our 18month old doesnt grasp the concept of spitting it out, so thats the main reason we have the toddler toothpaste. Fluoride is important at any age, so be sure that your daughter is getting enough fluoride (Nursery water, regular tap water- if it has fluoride in it, or fluoride drops) ask your doctor for the drops!!

    Good luck!

  11. you can't -this is something that will be learned over time.  put just a tiny bit on the toothpaste and don't make it an issue.

  12. Isn't there a safe, fluoride-free one? I remember "Paperino's"... it even had a toothbrush with a Donald Duck on it.

But I think a 2yo would love to ape Mummy spitting the toothpaste.

Brush your teeth at the same time as hers and spit. Make a lot of funny noises as you do this.

Hold a plastic glass under her and compliment her aim when she scores a hit, or remove the tap from the drain and do the same.

*Sigh* The things we take for granted, till we have kids...

  13. Yes it's normal. That's why they make toddler toothpaste, it's safe if swallowed because unless you're showing them how to spit, it's hard to explain it and harder for them to do it. It'll end up all over the counters or dribbled all over their front.

  14. all children do it at that age. if you brush your teeth with her a show her that you are spitting it out, she will copy (after a while) childrens toothpaste is safe for then to swallow too.
