How do i stop picking?

my friend has a moderate case of acne.. its not bad break outs really, but she says they are always under the skin and dont get whiteheads like normal people.. how can i suggest she stop picking at it or messing with it.. they always look all blotchy.. she just wants to not have to wear makeup n e more

Sounds like cystic acne to me if there is no whitehead. I understand it is very hard not to pick, because they become very sore. She should try to find a medication for it through her doctor. When you see improvement you don't want to pick. Unfortunately Cystic Acne is one of the hardest to get rid of. She may also want to be checked for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome as that can be a cause of cystic acne.

I know your question is how to stop picking at her acne, but that's really all a matter of self control.

What I do recommend if going to a dermatologist. I know before I went I thought it was for people who have horrible skin, or rich people.

But a lot of times your insurance will pay for it.

I had the same type of pimples, the boil like ones that stay under the skin and never come to a head. Before I went and got it under control my face was always so sore around these areas, not to mention I felt really bad about how my skin looked. Now after just finishing my last month of accutane I feel confident enough to leave my house makeup free.
