How do i stop spy-bot search & destroy from starting up when i boot up my computer every time?

every single time i boot up my computer my spy-bot search and destroy starts up and makes my boot up take twice as long as it should. I need to know if anyone out there knows how i can turn that option off in the program? thank you

You want to take it off the start up process.

Go to start

click on run

type msconfig

on the startup tab - make sure that it is checked off

You can even go to services and verify that it's not turned on in there.

Ooh I also had this problem until recently

Discovered it was a virus / trojan of some kind - definately not an authentic copy of Spybot

I think you need to uninstall all components ASAP, give your PC a good clean up then download another version from a specified web address to make sure it's genuine.

I'll go with Marko on this one. I think you went into settings on the Spybot S&D & fiddled so  tht your computer is xtra secure ;-) I think what you also have on is the Tea Time application of spybot as on..

If you know what to uncheck in MSCONFIG>Startup Then cool, if not open up Spybot go to File menu>Mode>Advanced>You'll get new options on the left hand bar. choose Settings>on the rt hand window, look for automation> system start>choose no automation.

This should fix your problem

or go Start>Run>(Type)MSCONFIG>In the window that now opens>system startup> uncheck tea timer and spybot S&D  programe, also anything that you might not need lke iPod helpers or other programs..>Apply>OK
