How do i stop the auto suggest google feature?

Everytime that i go to google and start typing it suggests things to search for. They are not things that i have searched for before so its not that old problem. It just suggest popular searches and its so annoying!! how do i stop it??

If your Toolbar has a wrench icon, follow these steps to disable search suggestions:

1. Click the wrench icon on your Toolbar.

2. Click the Search tab in the 'Toolbar Options' window.

3. Deselect the 'Suggest searches as you type' checkbox.

4. Click the Save button.

If it does not have a wrench:

1. Click the Settings button on your Toolbar.

2. Select Options from the drop-down menu.

3. Click the Search Box Settings button.

4. Deselect the 'Suggest popular searches' checkbox.

5. Click the OK button.

That should do it!

Click on the "Preferences" link next to the Google search window. On the page that opens there's a "Query Suggestions" option. Uncheck and then recheck the don't show option and then save it. I have no idea why this has suddenly been changed on so many computers, but resetting your preference should eliminate that annoying feature..
