  1. you can get call block and block the numbers, but even if you are on the Do not call list, they can still call u. Its a non-profit organization im assuming. The only way is to get call block or call intercept on your line...

  2. UK Answer only.

Unsolicited marketing calls can be stopped by using the Telephone Preference Service (TPS).

    Call 0845 070 0707.

It will take up to 28 days for the service to be effective.

For those 'silent' calls' when computerised calls are made you can stop these by calling Silent Call Guard service on 0870 444 3969.

I hope this helps you but it might also help others with a similar problem.

  3. Yes ring your service provider

  4. Register with DNC (Do Not Call list).

  5. you can make you phone number a little more private

somehow you can ring up the phone company and make it so people have to ring 1470 before dialing your number

  6. you can tell your provider to block them i think, but if they can't do anything...change your number!!! if you don't want to do that, by a Sim card, and stop using your old number for a while and see what happens.. if they keep annoying you, then tell them to stop, don't be afraid to sound rude!!

  7. contact bt or whoever your with and start noting the times they call, give the list to your provider and tell them you want them blocked...you can also get a package from your provider that stops withheld or private numbers

  8. either ring your service provider or when they ring up tell them to stop ringing cos you have got the line monitored by the police and if they bother you again the police will be after them. Sometimes that works but not always

  9. here we go!!!

    try this......*77!!

you know that you done it right when you hear a stutter-tone!!

but *77 is only good for ppl who use *67 to call your house, otherwise get yourself a callerID manager!!!

most prank callers know every trick there is, like using a calling-card or a callerID spoofing card!!

  10. there is a number in the bt directory to stop most of these calls just ring and follow instuctions I dont get people phoning to sell kitchens etc it is wonderful Only a few calls get through those that are recorded messages

  11. you can register with the telephone preferance service (TPS)  the instructions and phone no for this is in the first couple of pages of the phone book.  Once registered companies (including charities, phone surveys and anoying sales people etc)  cannot phone you as its against the law.

    just found the telephone no - its 0845 07 007 07

This service doesn't cost anything and save you any future hassle. However remember this only blocks marketing calls such as the ones you descibe not nuisance personal calls!!!!!!!!!!

above advise only suits if you live in UK - guessing your from US though because of your spelling of 'favourite'!!!!

  12. further to manchester uk's answer, if you are a bt customer you can sign up for their privacy service on bt.com. its free of charge and they register your number with the telephone preference service. if you want to stop anonymous calls, its a service called anonymous call reject which costs £4 per month.

the silent call guard service is operational within 24 hours, but only lasts for 1 year after which you need to re-register.

if not with bt you can sign up for the tps online on their website.

  13. You could tell these people who call you that you are to be put in the "Do not call list." Dont get into a conversation with them just say thank you and hang up. All solicitors are"supposed to honor that list by law.

If you still have problems you may need to call your phone co.

If its a private no. I'm not sure why its circulating, but talk about blocking these numbers with your phone co. The worst thing would be changing your phone no.

  14. If your in the UK and with BT then you can pay for a service which allows you to block numbers but i think it only up to 6 at a time. Why don't you just leave them talking to themselves they may get the message as even when they hang up they cant call out again till you do. costs them a fortune whilst they talk to themselves.

  15. call your service provider....and ask for a thing called ''call preference' it should stop these calls...

  16. Your service provider can block trhe calls from diffrent regions i would probably get the police involved if they carry it on

donating to one charity is bad because then every single charity in your region thinks she will donate to me aswell

  17. If you object directly to a call then they can't carry on trying to sell you stuff, you can also ask to be put on their "do not call list".  There are websites that tell you how to do it, just google it.  Good luck i know they're a pain in the ****

  18. Tell them..."are you aware you have dialled a business?"

    They should back right off??
